WHERE ARE THEY NOW? |
Sean Kanan (ex-A.J., GH 1993-1997; ex-Jude, SUNSET BEACH, 1999) |

Soap Opera Digest, September 2000. |
"Sean Kanan may no longer be in the soap orbit, but that would be tough to tell from the cast lists of his most recent projects. Take, for instance, March, an independent film that Kanan is both producing (with partner Jessica Hammerschlag) and starring in. Among his co-stars? Rena Sofer (ex-Lois, GH; ex-Eve, MELROSE PLACE). "I play the title character, Julian March," notes Kanan. "It's a beautiful drama about a guy whose life starts to unravel, and he tries to recapture it. Rena plays an ambitious, sexy, young executive at the company where my character works, and she and my character have an affair." Coincidence? "Rena and I have the same agent, so I would see her from time to time. It's wonderful to work with her again." |
Kanan felt the same way when he got the chance to team up with another former co-star, Antonio Sabato, Jr., (ex-Jagger, GH; ex-Jack, MP), on the 2000 cable flick THE CHAOS FACTOR. "I was on GH when he was on, and when Ricky Martin [ex-Miguel] was on," notes Kanan. "It was an exciting time to be on the show." |
Despite his recent track record, Kanan admits that he's wary about populating upcoming gigs with too many former GH mates. "I would want to work with quite a few of them, but I'm afraid it might be too disconcerting to have two or three different people from GH in a film," he explains. "I would worry that it would possibly take people out of the story and bring them back into, 'Wait a minute, didn't so and so work together?'" |
That said, Kanan continues, "I adore Stuart Damon [Alan], John Ingle [Edward]... It would be so wonderful to be able to offer them parts. [My production company] is going to be doing another film after this and, at some point, I'd like to get all of my old friends back in here. It's such a good feeling to give friends work. It really is." |
